Brave new world = ám chỉ một cách mỉa mai về một thời thế mới đầy hi vọng được sinh ra sau nhiều biến chuyển to lớn của xã hội, nhưng chẳng dễ dầu gì, làm sao hết chiến tranh, làm sao hết nghèo đói, hết bệnh tật.

Feet of clay = đôi bàn chân đất sét là từ lóng ví von yếu điểm sẵn có bên trong mỗi con người hay lỗi lầm mà người đó mắc phải. Có thể hiểu như, VN có câu đôi tay nhúng chàm thì Mỹ có đôi chân dính bùn.
